A few notes on how counts are formed: hyphenated words like 'well-known' count as a single word, matching most word processors, and sentence detection looks for terminal punctuation followed by whitespace, so unusual formatting can occasionally over- or under-count sentences. Keyword density is a diagnostic, not a target: there is no correct percentage, just a signal to catch obvious over-repetition. Word counting here splits text on whitespace, which matches English and most space-separated languages but not scripts that write without spaces between words. Chinese and Japanese text often has no spaces at all, so a whole sentence can register as one word; Thai similarly uses no spaces between words within a phrase. For those languages, use the character count instead, or treat the word count as a rough lower bound rather than an exact total. A dictionary-based segmenter is required for true word counts in unspaced scripts, and that is outside what a simple browser counter does. This limitation is why this page does not claim to work with any language: it counts space-separated text accurately and shows character counts for everything else.
